Unusual Huichol Indian Art Angela
was able to interview a Huichol Shaman on her recent trip to Jalisco
about their Day-of-the-Dead celebrations. The Huichol have never used
skeleton symbology in their traditional bead and yarn work in the
past, but have agreed to make some limited edition pieces for our
customers. Ancestors will be portrayed as skeletons and the scenes
will represent their sacred ceremonies. This amazing work is intricate
& beautiful. We have received these items with the Huichol Day
of the Dead symbology. Yarn painting was done by Excelente Castro,
a great, young, Huichol artist. |
