NEW Papel picado banderitasHand-cut paper papel picado flags. Banners are 6" high x 9" wide and are mounted on an 18" long dowel. Banderitas make unique & inexpensive favors for parties or weddings. These "paper lace" flags look festive as centerpieces or can be used in floral arrangements. In fact, when banderitas and flowers are used together in centerpieces, less expensive floral arrangements can be used. Everyone at the table can take a banderita home with them! In the Huasteca regions of Mexico, banderitas have been used since the 19th century in head dresses and carried in large gourd bowls during traditional ceremonial processions in the villages. "Tissue paper" in Spanish is called "papel de China", or paper from China, as that's where it was originally imported from. |
